Sampath (Sam) Iyengar is a global business leader, entrepreneur and strategy specialist with over 25 years of leadership experience in management consulting, high tech and financial services. In his 25 years of leadership experience in Information Technology, Financial services and Consulting, Mr. Iyengar has led transformations, turnarounds and rapid growth situations across closely held and public companies. He has driven business strategy, M&A and global integration, built world class teams and worked closely with top notch board members.
Currently he is a Partner and strategic Advisor for Impact initiatives & mentor for ICT sector in Forum Synergies PE Fund managers, a firm set up by a group of former CEOs investing in select growth sectors of India. Sam is also an Advisor on Innovation (government and private) and a personal investor / mentor in `impact’ initiatives in the areas of tech, media, governance and social change.
Sam’s earlier stints include Global Partner & India CEO of Ada Investments (now 55 Capital), Global CEO of PSI Data Systems Ltd/Aditya Birla group and Cofounder/Global CEO of Foundation Technologies group. In his early days, Sam has played technical and financial analysis roles.
At 5Forty3 Datalabs, Sam will be charting out innovation lifecycles of various products and tools along with mentoring our technology platforms. He will also be overseeing the long term investment map of 5Forty3 Datalabs in order to help us emerge as the world’s premiere socio-political and economic data analytics organization.
Prof. Mathukumalli Vidyasagar is a legendary engineer, mathematician, researcher and research administrator. A Fellow of the Royal Society and a leading control theorist, Prof. Vidyasagar holds the Cecil & Ida Green Chair at the University of Texas at Dallas and is also a Distinguished Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad.
In the past, he has been credited with the promotion of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), into a leading research laboratory in India, working in areas such as flight control, robotics, neural networks, and image processing. In the year 2000, he joined Tata Consultancy Services as an Executive Vice President, where he created the Advanced Technology Center, an industrial R&D laboratory of around 80 engineers, spanning areas including computational biology, quantitative finance, e-security, identity management, and open source software to support Indian languages.
Prof. Vidyasagar is an BS, MS and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and has held senior positions in academics at several leading universities including as Professor of Electrical Engineering at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Concordia University, Montreal and the University of Waterloo, Canada.
He has received a number of awards including Fellowship in The Royal Society, the world's oldest scientific academy in continuous existence, the IEEE Control Systems (Field) Award, the Rufus Oldenburger Medal of ASME, among others. He is also the first recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He is the author of eleven books and more than 140 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
At 5Forty3 Datalabs, Prof Mathukumalli Vidyasagar would be mentoring the tech teams to bring his vast experience to enable big data analytical tools to achieve scale. He would also be working towards developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning ecosystems for various tools and product offerings.
