Boy Story is a South Korean boy band that debuted on 21st September 2018. It is a six-membered group with Hanyu being the leader. His other teammates are Zihao, Xinlong, Zeyu, Mingrui, and Shuyang. Tencent Music Entertainment and JYPE China are group organizers of Boy Story. Before their official debut, the group launched four singles starting from 1st September 2017 under the project called “Real! Project.”

Hanyu

Hanyu is the leader of the band along with being a rapper, vocalist, and dancer. He was born on 20th May 2004 in Henan, China and his birth name are Jia Hanyu. That makes him currently 18 years old. He is 176 cm (5’ 9”) tall and his weight is about 52 kg (115 lbs).

Hanyu has an introverted personality and he gets scared when he sees new people around. It’s funny to know that he also gets nervous when he notices a girl cry. He is good at martial arts. However, during his training phase, he felt the most uncomfortable while stretching and even cried for the same. He admires Jackson of GOT7 a lot and wants to compose, write lyrics, and produce songs with him.

Zihao

Zihao is the rapper, vocalist, and dancer of Boy Story. His birthplace is Tianjin, China, and his birth name is Li Zihao. He is just a few months younger than Hanyu as he turned 18 on the 22nd of October 2022. Zihao’s height is 180 cm (5’ 11”) and he weighs around 62 kg (137 lbs).

Zihao started dancing when he was 8 years old. He loves music and is also good at playing guitar. Interestingly, he likes to dance to the songs of famous Korean girl groups, most specifically, Twice. He is also a fanboy of Ed Sheeran. He has a friendly personality and is also the funniest in the group. Members call him a laughing virus because of his contagious laugh.

Xinlong

In Boy Story, Xinlong serves the position of rapper, vocalist, and dancer. He was born in Taiyuan, China on 11th March 2005 which means that he will cut his 18th birthday cake this year. He Xinlong is his birth name. Xinlong’s height is 176 cm (5’ 9”) and his weight is about 55 kg (121 lbs).

Xinlong is the muscle man of Boy Story as he has been shown to have abs. Earlier, he wore glasses but now he has his contact lenses on. He is an ambidextrous person which means he can do his courses with both hands equally well. He is good at public speaking and is also fluent in Korean. B-boying and beatboxing are some other amazing skills of Xinlong. Hanyu once described him as “Perfect.”

Zeyu

Zeyu is the visual and vocalist of the band. He was born in Tianjin, China on 24th December 2005. Thus, he is also of the age group as that Xinlong i.e., 17 years. His Chinese birth name is Yu Zeyu. Speaking about his height and weight, he is 180 cm (5’ 11”) tall and weighs around 60 kg (132 lbs).

Before his debut in Boy Story, he was acquainted with Zihao and Hanyu. He also traveled around various places with GOT7’s Jackson and Miss A’s Fei to find other members of the band. Also, he is the longest-trained member of the group. This justifies how he is so fluent in speaking Korean. Unfortunately, Zeyu suffers from Mysophobia which is an extreme fear of germs.

Mingrui

Mingrui is the vocalist, visual, and rapper of Boy Story. He was born on 28th August 2006 in Chengdu, China. Thus, he is currently 16 years old. Gou Ming Rui is his birth name. He is 170 cm (5’ 7”) tall and he weighs around 51 kg (112 lbs).

Many Boy Story stans relate Mingrui’s face with Stray Kid’s Felix. When he joined JYP, he wasn’t that good at singing and dancing. Though with consistent practice, he improved a lot, and now people call him a copy machine as he is the fastest in learning the dance moves. He is also good at martial arts. Mingrui had the shortest training period among other members.

Shuyang

Shuyang is the youngest in the band and thus is the Maknae of Boy Story. He is also the lead vocalist and rapper. He was born on 24th April 2007 in Pingyao, China which makes him currently 15 years old. He is also the shortest in height. He is 165 cm (5’ 5”) tall and he weighs around 49 kg (108 lbs).

Interestingly, Shuyang was put in the draft to join Boy Story. But in reality, he was chosen as a member of the group accidentally. Initially, when he came to Korea, he cried a lot as he wasn’t able to understand anything. Though, he is learning Korean. As a dancer, he is well-versed in locking.
