Sandeep Balakrishna is a former Information Technology professional with a long and successful career at corporations such as Honeywell and Cisco. He quit corporate life to pursue his passion in writing and study of Indian philosophy, history and culture. He is the author of the bestselling history book, Tipu Sultan: The Tyrant of Mysore published in 2013 to rave reviews. His other work of history, The Madurai Sultanate: A Concise History was published in 2016, to popular acclaim.
He has also translated the legendary Kannada novelist Dr. S L Bhyrappa’s critically-acclaimed work, Aavarana into English as Aavarana: The Veil published by Rupa. It is currently in its sixth reprint.
Sandeep is a regular columnist at several mainstream outlets like Firstpost, DailyO, The American Thinker, and Kannada dailies like Kannada Prabha and Vishwavani. He is an invited speaker at various premier institutions like Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science, and is a Fellow of the Indian Council for Philosophical Research.
